movin’ on up

Anyone who knows me even remotely well can tell you that I hate our soon-to-be old kitchen and bathroom. In the end, it was the icky old tile and linoleum, tacky wallpaper and cheap landlord “solutions” to various problems in these two rooms that confirmed our decision to move. As a woman whose mantra is ”Do it now,” my landlord’s “duct tape it over and hope I don’t have to pay for a repairman” solution was not popular with me.

But soon I will shake my fist in the air for the last time - for this particular reason - and we will leave these atrocities behind! Every old place in Chicago has its warts, and I’m sure we’ll find something un-perfect about our new home, but check out where we’ll be shaking our fists now!

As pictures of Coachella abound on Tumblr and chatter about Lolla/Pitchfork heats up in Chicago, I abide by this excellent advice offered by my Dad. I like a good tailgate, though.
